About Merri
I have always had a love for dogs and knew early on that I wanted to work with them in some form. Before moving to Melbourne from Tasmania in 2022, I worked at a dog daycare/training facility and owned my own dog boarding and walking business where I only used positive and force-free training methods to ensure the comfortability of my dogs.
I taught in different training classes ranging from puppy school to advanced classes and I loved watching each dog learn the new behaviour they were practicing and watching the bond between owner and their dog from.
I currently hold a Certificate II in Animal Studies and a First Aid in Cats and Dogs. In 2025 I will be obtaining my Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training through the Delta Institute.
Since being in Melbourne, I have worked at different dog daycares and a local shelter where I learned more about dog behaviour & canine body language, and cleaning processes for animals. I loved seeing nervous or anxious animals who came into care come out of their shell and become more confident before eventually being adopted.
My dog lives in Tasmania with my family and she is a 16 year-old Schnoodle who I have had since she was 10 weeks old. I have also owned Mastiffs and a deaf Springer Spaniel. I look forward to caring for your dogs as if they were my own!
